Figures. I am suddenly reminded of a Canadian flight attendant,
Gaetan Dugas, aka "Patient Zero," who managed to spread the HIV virus
from coast to coast in just a few years.
Mr. Slater's HIV+ status is not surprising, since the Americans with
Disabilities Act prohibits an employer from firing even the most
incompetent employee. I would not be surprised if Mr. Slater's
lawyer's file a discrimination lawsuit, alleging that his behavior was
a side-effect of one of his dozens of medications (actually meth-
induced psychosis), forcing the airline to rehire him while paying
millions in damages.
