Probably not.  It's just a "simple" applying the homeostasis principle
to what it means to have something present (that which generates the
phobia) instead of absent (that which generates the addiction.)  If the
"bad thing" (object or situation) shows up, it disturbs the "normal"
state too much, so the brain learns to try to avoid that object or
situation.
