Re: Celebrating Christmas is SinfulFrom: zed@cbgb.net (Zed) to what the Bible has to say about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. An <ahem!> honest oversight... I'm sure. Not. And away we go! When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. Matthew 2:10 And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. Luke 1:14 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. Luke 1:19 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. Luke 1:44 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:10 So much for Christmas. What about other occasions? And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: Luke 15:23 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living *God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;* 1 Timothy 6:17 There must be at least sometime that we're not to celebrate! Rejoice in the Lord *always*: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4 Oh, Nooo!
