Re: Noni tea and banana ketchup: the new taste of the Caribbean (Just Food)From: coad@invalid.invalid (Paul E Coad) Banana ketchup and noni tea are two of the more bizarre new product concepts to come out of the Caribbean in recent years, as food exporters seek to compete in a globalised market through innovation. Wesley Gibbings reports. === Banana ketchup has been around for a long time. It is pretty popular in the Philippines (and can be found in Asian markets in the US). I would possibly call it odd or unfamiliar but not bizarre. For something that started out as fish sauce and now is mainly tomato sauce, something special is required to be called bizarre. One obvious example would be coffee/lime/shrimp ketchup. --paul My is valid coad sonic net address not use: at dot
