I'm skeeered to ask WTF is that?
:-) You chickenshit! LOL! Mini meatballs and Tater Tots, skewered,
then dipped in what appears to be corndog batter. Deep fried (Wot a
surPRISE!). Served with a small cup o' cream of mushroom soup for
dipping. Stop laughing, dammit!
Oh. FoodSnob's favorite meal !!! hehehehehehehe
<grin> ANY state fair food is not known for its pedigree and
nutritional values. There *are* less destructive foods to be had -- a
middle eastern booth sells an awesome tabbouleh salad and gyros; there
are a couple fruit stands. There's an awesome grilled corn on the cob.
Pork chops on a stick. My thinking, though, is that I eat stuff at the
fair that I only have once a year. I haven't had my veggie kabobs
(tempura-battered and fried) yet; I'll be going to the fair again at the
end of the week. Maybe then. Rob and I were at the Fair on Saturday
and I didn't have anything to eat; he had a corn dog in each hand. :-)
HIS once a year gig.
I'm with you Barb - once a year we head out to the Carp (Ontario) Fair at
the end of September. It's a celebration for us - my oldest daughter was
born the morning after I had coffee and cinnamon buns there in '93.....we
take in the big horses, the not-so-hot mid-way, spend way too much trying to
win a stuffed somethingorother, check to see if my Uncle Blair placed in the
maple syrup entries (he usually does), fill out a ballot to win a quilt from
the church ladies, and eat mini donuts and Beavertails, donairs, and drink
lemonade....and eat candy floss, and fruit dipped in chocolate
sauce.....and......get a henna tattoo....and check out the 'artisan' booths
....and it's almost not a coutry fair anymore. But we go anyway. We look
forward to it.
can't wait, actually.
I have my regular faves, but perhaps I'll look for something different this
year, since your fair fare seems so bizarre....
