I can assure you that when dropped on quarry tiles they do not (always)
bounce.

8))) But who had quarry tiles in.. I know. I had one shatter from the
freezer when I dropped it which was lucky as the casserole remained in a
block...

Isn;t it awful when something you have and use and think: 'these old
things? But they are so useful...' turn up in collectables?

No.

I have a can-opener which works rather like a cross between secateurs and
a concertina, and cuts round the circumference of the tin, leaving a
lovely wavy razor-sharp edge, just right for removing cylinders of flesh
should you be very unwary.

Ocasionally, I use it, as when I want some shim the thickness of a
beancan.

I still use a pre-war beanslicer, some baking trays (seemingly
bulletproof) and several other utensils of similar vintage.

I don;t get your 'no', then. And if the tin-opener is so lethal, why keep
it? If you do keep it, then is it because you use it, and if you do then it
is useful.
Unless you are saying no, it isn;t awful...

Perhaps it is me...
Forget it. I am not in the mood for sniping.
