Re: More ideas for PrunellaFrom: rusty.hinge@foobar.girolle.co.uk (Rusty Hinge) I like Pyrex and I love Pyrosil - that my mother was a rep for them for some years had nothing to do with it... <hummm> Bake in it, fry in it, freeze it, eat out of it, drop it... catch it as it bounces.... Oh yeah? I remember when they appeared, and my best fiend's mother was extolling their virtues and the word 'unbreakable' was uttered. We (I and fiend) were about eight or nine, and wanted to test this marvel. I can assure you that when dropped on quarry tiles they do not (always) bounce. Isn;t it awful when something you have and use and think: 'these old things? But they are so useful...' turn up in collectables? No. I have a can-opener which works rather like a cross between secateurs and a concertina, and cuts round the circumference of the tin, leaving a lovely wavy razor-sharp edge, just right for removing cylinders of flesh should you be very unwary. Ocasionally, I use it, as when I want some shim the thickness of a beancan. I still use a pre-war beanslicer, some baking trays (seemingly bulletproof) and several other utensils of similar vintage. -- Rusty
