Karen Sypher ale wins at State FairFrom: garrison@efn.org (Garrison Hilliard) chief The judges have found in favor of Karen Sypher. Well, at the State Fair, at least. A label featuring Sypher?s photo and several jokes about her infamous affair with University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino ? on a beer called Blackmail Ale ? has snared a Kentucky State Fair blue ribbon in the Homebrew category. ?Blackmail Ale, 7 Years Old,? the label reads. ?A bitter brew available only at your local Italian eatery. 0% Dignity by Volume.? ?It didn?t win on taste,? said Edward Browne, the fair?s director of public relations and media. ?The category was Humor/Satirical, and the label could represent a political or current event.? Sypher, of course, was convicted earlier this month of extorting Pitino and lying to the FBI about the affair they had at a Crescent Hill restaurant. The label was created by Louisville homebrewer Greg Rosenberger, who said that, ?With all the media and everything, I just sat down one afternoon, put my mind to it and was able to come up with a pretty good idea.? The label also carries a warning: ?Consuming this beverage may lead to incarceration in the United States federal prison system.? Sypher is expected to be sentenced in late October
