Perhaps because I have nothing to hide. I don't particularly
care, one way or another. If you don't so anything wrong, you
don't get stopped. If you do get stoped and haven't done
anything wrong, there are ways to deal with it.
Never been profiled before, eh?
Yeah, there certainly are ways.
But, why should one be arsed with going through all that mess
when there was absolutely no need?
You'll start to care--one way, or another--when you lose a day
or two from work (or even a few nights of your freedom) to
follow-up at court, or with a magistrate, or whatever crap
they _make_ you do.
Big fat hairy deal. WHat are they going to do, lock me up and
take away my birthday?
That might be the case.
It's for you to weigh it all in the balance.
I, for one, don't give much of a dilly for the birthday thing,
anymore, but I do appreciate each day I'm given, and I refuse to
let one slice of it get taken away under duress.
Absolutely!
"Yes, Officer, I do mind if you search the car; it's mine, and
there's absolutely no reason for you to proceed."
Good luck with that . . . .
I'm not the one that said that. I have no problem with it.
If you get stopped for ANY reason on the UMASS campus they
search your car. Try to stop them and they impound it and bring
you in for questioning. So search the car! Who cares?
Uh, I do. It's mine, and there is absolutely no reason for them
to put their fingerprints on it.
Indeed.
I used to commute on my bicycle, and I was regularly harassed by
local and county law enforcement who (obviously) had no
understanding of the true Rules Of The Road.
Only by holding a printout of the State regulations in my wallet
was I able to get a grumpy and/or frustrated officer to
back-down.
Good for you!
Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, maker of inbred children....
Yes! Something these characters don't seem to *get*, or want, or
care about.
One day, Sister, we'll all be able to sit-back and laugh.
Hopefully, it will be in a good way.
The mountains shall drop sweet wine, and the hills shall melt :)
I like the sweet wine bit but I'm not sure about the hills melting.
That which passes, passes like little fluffy clouds.
My concern, if I really let it bother me which I rarely do, is a HUGE
tsunami hitting the Pacific coast.
Avoid ALL coastal areas.
YHBW.
Sorry. Too late for that. I live a hundred yards from the coastline.
Thankfully, there is a 40 foot cliff to the water right in front of my
house. It should hold unless, like I said, a HUGE tsunami hits. Then
all bets are off and I run for the hills.
40' is golden (in the Grand scheme of things) for, oh, another 50 years.
That should be plenty for me and my hubby.
Well, even if teh estermates are off, y'all got legs, and cars, and stuff, right?
After that, we'll all be drinkin' Coors.
Well.....
