** Sporadic E season 2010 has ended? **

As August has passed, we may assume that the Sporadic E season
2010 has ended. The start of the season brought us many openings
but July and August were disappointing. The team of MMMonVHF wants
to thank everybody for sending logs to the review pages and in
that way contribute to better understanding of the Sporadic E
mechanism. There is still a lot to discover ... Read more and

** MMMonVHF MeteorScatter-page update - September 2010 **

Even if no big meteor showers hit the Earth in September, this
month deserves lot of interest by MS enthusiasts. Sporadic Meteors
flux is at its annual maximum in this period, thus providing
relatively good rates especially during morning hours. Some minor
to medium showers (Alpha-Aurigids, September Perseids, Sextantids
and others) will also add significant meteor rates. Have a look to
shower predictions for September 2010 at our MMM MS-Propagationpage

** 2 METER EME WAS **

Dear Moonnet, I have updated my website listing the biggest 2M EME
stations, CW and WSJT, from each state. I am happy to include the
first Louisiana station on the site, WZ5Q. Mike has a good signal
off the moon. 2 seventeen element yagis, 1000  watts, with
elevation:
The goal is to list at least the largest CW and Digital stations
for each state. This site is a perpetual work in progress. If you
spot any errors or omissions, please email me off list. I would
particularly appreciate it if an experienced CW operator could
review and add to the CW information. Hope some of you find this
helpful. A final personal note. I believe my qsls are up to date.
If you have sent me a qsl card direct, and have not received mine,
please email me off list and I will send you one right away.

** Eduardo, LU7DZ - silent key **

When Juan LU8ENU called me this morning with the sad news, it
shock me because we have some good news since yesterday. We well
miss him he was a true experimenter, great Pictures of People">person and advisor, he
was always ready for help. We dont spent much time together, but
I'll remember our conversations in his house for ever.

I did meet Ed, LU7DZ, in the first days of my EME entusiam and
have had the pleasure to learn a lot from him about condx and
noise and CW signals and patience... Sure we will miss your CQ
signal on 144.107 MHz, Ed!
Me and the Team of MMMonVHF will pass our deep sympathy and
condolences to his family.  Rest in peace, Eduardo!  Guy DL8EBW

** UK/DL9LBH MN41OG qrt **

I am sad to say that my beautiful 3 years in Tashkent/Uzbekistan
end in September. So I had to pull down my antennas 23rd August.
Thank you all for a lot of fun. Even when I was very restricted
by an enormous qrl workload I could work 268 stations from 46
countries on 2m and also 27 stations out of 18 countries on 70cm.
I will move to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan and will try to
get a licence. So keep the fingers crossed that we meet again in
eme on 2m/70cm from there. Hans-Walter DL9LBH direct to MMMonVHF
