This can be for portraits, landscapes, architecture or for general use.

What size ? This may change totally the answers ...
And then, the developer, which may also alter the results ...

In 35mm, I use mostly:
- Fuji Acros for all subjects except portraits where the model has not
a perfect skin. Acros is somewhat "punchy" that may not suit all
models ...
- TMX similar to Acros but softer. More forgiving for portraits but
looking somewhat less sharp than Acros.
- TMY, the perfect 400ISO ?
- Tri-X and HP-5, the old-style film, far from perfect but appreciated
for this reason. Nice grain especially in out of focus areas.
As developer, I use mostly Xtol for all.
I still have a lot of Technical Pan in the freezer that I use when I
need either the maximum of details or its extended red sensitivity
(skin blemishes reduction, ...)
