resembling a type of raspberry but much more tart. The leaves are more
rounded instead of the pointed leaf. There growing wild along an edge of a
field. And the stalks do have some stickers on the shoots. My friend has
them along his property line and he calls them Service berries but I'm

there not. Their very brittle and fall apart as you pick them.
look like wineberries to me from the shape of the leaves and the stems

Are the berries red to deep maroon when ripe? Do the stalks have red
fine prickers and a few big ones?
And are the stalk and berries sticky alittle?
If yes to these questions, they are Japanese Raspberries. I have a row
of them..They have another name but i forgot it.
Hope this helps.
